As part of the Partner Relations organization, the Applications Engineer works with professional and amateur broadcasters, and is responsible for the coordination and completion of projects.

He/she oversees all aspects of complex projects, involving requirements gathering, definition of objectives, scope and plan, and documents and executes on client customizations. He/she creates schedules, assigns responsibilities and coordinates efforts of remote team members, monitors progress, oversees quality control throughout the project lifecycle, and ensures deadlines and deliverables are met, on time, as spec’ed, and on budget.

The successful candidate is a highly motivated self starter who is technically savvy and is able to provide excellent customer service with an eye for identifying potential problems before they arise. He/she is also hands-on, gets down into the trenches, and supports other non-project customers as required.

The candidate must feel comfortable with, and remain calm in the face of uncertainty, rapid change, and aggressive deadlines common to rapidly growing companies with evolving business models.

The individual is a tenacious, results-oriented individual with an uncompromising set of standards. He/she works cross-organizationally with geographically dispersed members and at all levels in order to achieve project goals. He/she develops and maintains a proactive, professional working relationship within the key sponsors, stakeholders and project teams, and possesses superior interpersonal, oral and written communication and problem-solving skills.

The Applications Engineer is able to handle multiple assignments of competing priorities and work them through to an effective resolution.

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Required: In-depth understanding and hands-on experience in Linux/Windows network configurations, network routing, firewalls and VPNs
• Desired: 2 to 3 years experience in progressively responsible technical positions in software, Internet or media, in a capacity of applications engineering, customer support, sales engineering, customization engineering/professional services or technical project management
• Desired: Solid grasp of fundamentals in video, VOD, streaming media, IPTV, Internet TV
• Required: Customer-facing experience
• Mandarin language ability a plus
• Some travel necessary
